This dataset contains hourly model outputs of four carbon-cycle variables: gross primary productivity (GPP), net primary productivity (NPP), plant respiration, and non-structural carbohydrate (NSC) mass fraction. The values are model outputs rather than measurements, and the NSC variable is produced only by the Joint UK Land Environment Simulator - Substrate Utilisation by Growth and Autotrophic Respiration (JULES-SUGAR). The data were generated using two model configurations: standard JULES and JULES-SUGAR, both version 7.4. It covers the period from 1 January 2017 to 31 December 2022. The data are for an ambient CO₂ plot and an elevated CO₂ plot at the Birmingham Institute for Forest Research Free Air Carbon Dioxide Enrichment (BIFoR-FACE) temperate oak woodland in Staffordshire, UK. The outputs were produced from the two JULES model configurations to compare simulated carbon-cycle responses under ambient and elevated CO₂ conditions.
