This data resource describes the environmental characteristics of three contrasting land cover types within the Cerrado biome in the municipality of Alto Paraíso de Goiás, Goiás State, Brazil. The datasets represent a managed cultivated pastureland and two Cerrado ecosystems; a dry and a wet grassland both comprised of native species. The study sites are located in and around the Parque Nacional da Chapada dos Veadeiros (PNCV) in central Brazil. The pasture site is situated on the boundary of the national park and is dominated by the exotic grass Urochloa humidicola, with rotational grazing by approximately 60 cattle. The dry grassland site lies within the national park and is comprised of native grassland species, sparse woody species are present (woody canopy cover < 5%) and are typically localized on better drained soil mounds (murundus). The site experiences a dry season water deficit with limited waterlogging for short durations in the wet season in some locations. The wet grassland site is also on the boundary of the national park, located within a valley surrounded by vereda (Mauritia flexuosa) and riparian forest. Vegetation is comprised of native grassland species and is waterlogged for the majority of the year. These datasets include eddy covariance fluxes of carbon dioxide, water and energy as half-hourly timeseries from 1st June 2021 till 31st May 2024. Fluxes are supported by weather and soil moisture timeseries data. Soil nutrient data from the three sites were collected in March and April of 2022.
